Cap Karma

This blog is set up for the cap making community of ladies at the San Francisco International Airport. The caps are for chemo patients and are donated to a local hospital. The hand made caps (knitted or crocheted) are a token of our prayers and well wishes for the recipient.

Quinquevulnera Mindless Knitting Hat

Here is my Quinquevulnera Mindless Knitting Hat, my latest hat for Cap Karma. It's my second "Mindless Knitting" hat, very easy to do without looking at the pattern. This "mindless knitting" thing is working out very well. I don't have a slip of paper for my little girl to try to grab, so nothing gets lost. :-) This hat is just a simple checkerboard pattern with plain & seed stitch blocks. It's hard to see the pattern with this variegated yarn.

um - what's with the names? How are you coming up with them? Any meaning?

Love how this looks and love the color too.

Since the "mindless knitting" hats are simple/plain, I thought it would be nice to balance it out by giving them more interesting names...

Didn't expect the hat to stripe that way. I started another hat with the same yarn and the same number of stitches, knit 8 rounds, and the striping is completely different, they're not horizontal stripes like in this hat. Isn't that bizarre?
